Exhibition Izložba

Common Places is an international and collaborative research initiated and promoted by architecture office Plan Común, focused on the discussion and production of formal strategies to maximize collective space.

Common Places’ first stage (2012-2017) deploys in several chapters. The most extended one is Public – Private series which consists of 44 strategies produced by Plan Común along with a group of architects contributing to Common Places since 2012.

The proposed methodology was straightforward: each proposal was explained with a text no longer than 300 words, describing the position on a specific topic, the concept behind its formal strategy and the form responding to this particular vision. In each proposal an argument was tested through a series of debates and conversations among the various participants in the series, thus dissolving individual authorship of the proposal. The next stage consisted of a single isometric drawing synthesizing the main attributes of each case, aiming to make a clear statement of its transformative will within the urban fabric.

The exhibition in Kolektiv Gallery will introduce this series for the second time as a whole.

Lecture: Practice as a project

Lecture by Kim Courrèges & Felipe De Ferrari, partners at Plan Común, will be held in Kolektiv Gallery on April 5th, at 7 pm. The presentation will be focused on the position and production in Plan Común during the last 6 year.
